What is an Expert Advisor?
An Expert Advisor (EA) is a program that runs inside MetaTrader 5 and automatically executes trades on your behalf based on pre-programmed strategies. Think of it as a trading robot — it monitors the market 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, and places trades when conditions are met.

Setting Up MetaTrader 5
MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is the industry-standard platform for Forex trading. It's free to download and available on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
Download MetaTrader 5
Visit metatrader5.com and download the installer for your operating system. The software is completely free.
Create a Trading Account

Enter your account credentials (login, password, and server) provided by your broker. You'll see the main trading interface with charts and market quotes.
Enable Automated Trading
Go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors. Check "Allow automated trading" and "Allow DLL imports." Click OK.
Installing an Expert Advisor
Once you've downloaded an EA file (.ex5) from Toasty EA, follow these steps to install and run it on MT5.
Locate the EA File
Find the .ex5 file you downloaded. It will be in your Downloads folder by default.
Open the Data Folder
In MT5, go to File → Open Data Folder. Navigate to MQL5 → Experts.
Copy the EA
Copy the .ex5 file into the Experts folder.
Refresh & Attach
Restart MT5 or right-click "Expert Advisors" in the Navigator panel and select "Refresh." You'll see your new EA appear in the list.
Run the EA
Drag the EA onto a chart of the correct Forex pair and timeframe. A settings dialog will appear — review the parameters and click OK.
Verify It's Running
Look for a smiley face icon in the top-right corner of the chart. This confirms the EA is active and trading.

Install MetaTrader 5

Install & Run Your EA

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to keep my computer on?
Yes, for the EA to trade, MT5 needs to be running. Many traders use a VPS (Virtual Private Server) for 24/5 uptime without leaving their personal computer on.
Can I use EAs on a demo account?
Absolutely. We recommend testing any EA on a demo account first to understand its behavior before going live with real money.
How much capital do I need?
This depends on the EA's strategy and your risk tolerance. Most of our EAs work well with a minimum of $500–$1,000, but always check the EA's recommended settings.
Can I run multiple EAs at once?
Yes, you can run multiple EAs on different charts in MT5. Just make sure each EA is attached to the correct pair and timeframe.
What happens if I cancel Premium?
Any EA you bought individually ($5 each) is yours forever — cancelling Premium never touches those. EAs you accessed through Premium stay on your computer if you already installed them, but the download button in your dashboard will stop working for Premium-only EAs until you resubscribe.
Should I subscribe or buy individually?
Subscribe if you plan to test several EAs or want new releases as they drop. Buy individually if you just want one specific EA and nothing else — $5 once, permanent access. You can also start with pay-per-EA and upgrade later.
Are EAs guaranteed to make money?
No. All trading involves risk. EAs are tools that automate strategies — they don't guarantee profits. Always use proper risk management and only trade with money you can afford to lose.
